AI for restaurants: POS and video checks, morning reports
An owner cannot stand by the till every day. We connect your existing cameras to the POS, so every receipt is checked against video and a short summary for all venues arrives every morning.
Typical tasks
- 01Receipt and video reconciliation
Every POS event is matched with footage of the till and the bar. The system catches orders with no receipt, items deleted after payment and discounts with no reason. You get the disputed moments as short clips.
- 02POS integration
We take receipts, deletions, discounts, shifts and stock from Poster or your POS through API. Camera and till data come together in one report per venue and per shift.
- 03Morning report for the owner
Every morning a Telegram message arrives: revenue, average ticket, guest count and till incidents for each venue. It is short, and nobody has to log into the POS for it.
- 04Queues and service time
Cameras count people at the counter or pickup point and measure waiting time. When a queue builds, the manager gets an alert. You see peak hours and plan shifts around them.
- 05Guest counting
The system counts guests at the entrance and compares the number with receipts. The gap shows where guests leave without ordering or service falls behind.
- 06Reservations in messengers
A chat agent on Instagram and WhatsApp answers about the menu and opening hours and books tables. Complex requests, such as events, go to a manager.
Data and access requirements
- POS integration is read-only through the official API: we never change your till or accounting.
- Fiscal rules differ by country, so we read fiscal data as the local POS exposes it and do not touch fiscalisation.
- GDPR for video: signage, no facial recognition, short retention and a DPIA where needed.
- We use existing cameras over RTSP or ONVIF. If a camera cannot see the till, we tell you where to move it.
What we build for this industry
Questions
We run several venues on one POS. Will it fit?
Yes, that is a typical case. We connect to the POS through API and to the cameras at each venue. The report covers the group and each venue separately. Adding a new venue does not require rebuilding the system.
What does it cost for a restaurant?
A turnkey project starts at $5,000. The price depends on venues, cameras and scenarios. After discovery you get a fixed estimate in 2-3 days, and we stick to it until launch.
Could it blame an innocent bartender?
No, the system draws no conclusions on its own. It shows the clip and the POS event, and the owner or manager decides. AI sometimes errs, so we never set up automatic penalties.
How long until the first report?
Discovery takes 1-2 weeks and the build 4-8 weeks with weekly demos. We usually launch the morning report first, before full video analytics, so you see numbers as early as possible.
Describe the task. The first call is with the founder.
We reply within one business day. 30 minutes to tell you whether it is worth doing and what it costs.
