POS video reconciliation: every receipt checked against the till camera
The system takes each receipt from Poster, Checkbox or another POS with an API and matches it against the camera over the till. Sales without a receipt, voids after handover and staff discounts land in a morning report with video.
What hurts
Stock does not reconcile, and nobody can tell where the money goes. A cashier voids a sale after handing over the goods. The owner finds out at the end of the month, or never.
Reviewing till footage by hand is impossible. There are several locations, two shifts and hundreds of hours of video. Spot checks catch accidents, not patterns.
Putting someone on a screen to watch the tills is expensive and bad for team morale. To talk to staff calmly, you need facts from video, not suspicions.
What we build
- POS integration with Poster, Checkbox or another system with an API: receipts, voids, refunds, discounts
- Connection to the camera over the till via RTSP/ONVIF
- A model that sees goods handover, cash and the card terminal at the till
- Matching rules: handover without receipt, void after handover, manual discounts
- Re-run of disputed cases before they reach the report
- Morning Telegram report: yesterday’s events with amounts and video
- Dashboard with events by location, till and shift
- Analysis on a computer on site, with no face recognition
What you get
- Reconciliation running on your tills and cameras
- Telegram bot with the morning report and access for owners and managers
- Dashboard with an event log and video for each event
- Accuracy report measured at your locations
- Documentation and an SLA for support
How we measure the result
- Share of receipts matched against video (target 100%)
- Number and value of events per day for each till
- Share of events confirmed by a manager after review
- Stock discrepancy at stocktake, before and after launch

Questions
How much does POS video reconciliation cost?
From $5,000 per project. The price depends on the number of locations and tills, which POS you use, and whether each site needs its own edge computer. After the site survey we give a fixed estimate within 2-3 days, and if we overrun through our fault we finish at our own cost.
Which POS systems do you support?
We connect Poster and Checkbox directly through their APIs. Other POS or ERP systems work if they expose receipts with a timestamp and till number. Without receipt data there is nothing to reconcile, so we check this first during the survey.
Do you recognise the faces of cashiers or customers?
No. In restaurants and retail we do not recognise or store faces. The system sees actions at the till: goods handover, cash, the terminal. Till and shift come from the receipt data, so identity is not needed. This keeps the setup simple under GDPR.
How do you avoid false accusations?
AI sometimes makes mistakes. So the event starts from the receipt, the camera checks the frame, and disputed cases are run again. Every event in the report comes with video, so the manager sees what happened. Decisions about staff always stay with a person, not the system.
How long does it take?
Usually 4-6 weeks. We first launch at one location, measure accuracy and share the first reports. Then we roll out to the other locations using the same setup.
What do you need from us?
API access to the POS, a camera over each till with a view of the counter and terminal, and a stable connection for the report. If there is no camera over the till, we recommend a model and mounting point. Contract, NDA and DPA are signed before access.
