KYC document verification with OCR, liveness and sanctions screening in one flow
KYC document verification for banks, fintech and insurers. The system reads passports, ID cards and proof of address, checks for tampering, screens against sanctions and PEP lists and prepares a checklist for your compliance officer.
What hurts
A customer uploads a photo of their ID and a staff member retypes the data and compares it with the application. Onboarding takes days. Some customers never finish.
AML rules require sanctions and PEP screening for every customer. Doing it by hand is slow, and a miss can lead to findings from your supervisor under EU AML rules.
Proof of income and source of funds documents arrive in every possible format. Someone has to read and assess them. The decision depends on the person and is poorly documented for audit.

Questions
How much does a KYC solution cost?
From $10,000. The price depends on document types, liveness requirements, the number of screening lists and core banking integration. After discovery we give a fixed estimate, and if we exceed it through our fault we finish at our own cost.
Where is personal data stored?
On your servers or on servers dedicated to you. Personal data never goes to third-party models. We sign NDA and DPA, hold ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and design the flow around GDPR and EU AI Act obligations.
Does the system make decisions on its own?
No. It prepares a recommendation with risk flags. Rejections and enhanced due diligence are decided by your compliance officer. Only clean applications can pass automatically, and only if your policy allows it.
What are the limits of OCR and liveness?
Poor lighting, glare and damaged documents lower quality. AI sometimes gets it wrong, so doubtful cases go to a person and the customer is asked to retake the photo with clear guidance.
How long does implementation take?
Usually 6–10 weeks. Core banking integration and security approvals take most of the time. We first run on part of the traffic in parallel with manual review.
